Does a fair society require a welfare state? If welfare cuts are needed, how can their fairness be ensured? Can it ever be fair for cuts to hit the poor hardest?

A discussion panel of notable speakers will debate the coalition government's proposed cuts to the welfare state.

This event is student organised and run, but funded and endorsed by the School of Public Policy.
