The HSE is an annual survey of a nationally-representative sample of the general population living in private homes in England. Each year, the survey has a new sample and a different focus as well as many core elements. The latest survey, HSE 2011 focused on cardiovascular diseases, as well as its core elements. The main difference is the inclusion of an additional core module, on social care.
