Professor Lucy Chen, Executive Deputy Director, Institute for Global Health, Peking University

In recent years China has established significant economic and financial links with the developing world and has played a key role in strengthening South to South cooperation, particularly development cooperation in the health sector.

Professor Lucy Chen (Executive Deputy Director of the Institute for Global Health, Peking University) has helped to establish China's Alliance for South-South Health Collaboration Research and will highlight China's effective interventions to support the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa. Professor Therese Hesketh (UCL Centre for International Health & Development) will highlight health and demographic change in China and Dr Vivienne Lo (UCL China Centre for Health & Humanity) will provide an overview of UCL collaborations with China on health research and the Centre's future work on health and humanity.
