Speaker information

John Cridland CBE, Director-General, Confederation of British Industry (CBI)

John Cridland will set out business’ vision for the UK’s energy future and what the new Government can do to get us there. This vision is of an economy which is both growing and greening, where there is enough energy from a diverse range of sources to power and heat homes and industry, where resources are used efficiently and consumers are informed, engaged and in control of their bills.

His remarks will touch upon how we can drive investment to secure and decarbonise our power sector, stimulate the consumer and business market for energy efficiency, ensure the UK’s industrial competitiveness and play a strong role in Europe and internationally to achieve a supportive framework for investments.
