Speaker information

Dan Mulhall, Irish Ambassador, Irish Government

As part of our Ambassador series, run under the Britain & Europe project, his Excellency the Irish Ambassador to the UK, Dan Mulhall, will offer an Irish perspective on the current UK debate on EU membership.

The Ambassador will outline the reasons why Ireland hopes that the UK will remain a full and active member of the EU. He will look at the 100 year partnership between Ireland and the UK as members of the EU and the positive impact this has had on British-Irish relations. He will reflect on his own experience of EU affairs as former EU Director General at the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade between 2005 and 2009 and as Ireland’s Ambassador in Berlin between 2009 and 2013.
