Speaker information

Dr Robin Archer, LSE

UCL - Institute of the Americas is pleased to host this talk by Dr Robin Archer (LSE). This talk suggests that, contrary to conventional wisdom, there was an important strand of European-style conservatism in the United States. While labour leaders made regular use of the language of liberty, business elites and their political and military allies repeatedly reached for the language of order versus chaos.

The talk will start at 5:30 pm and will be followed by a Q&A session. You are cordially invited to continue the discussion over a drink at the brief reception that we will be offering to conclude this event.

Entrance is free of charge, but you are strongly advised to register your attendance.
