Speaker information

Dr Jonathan Campion, Visiting Professor, Division of Psychology & Language Sciences & UCL Partners, I am involved in multiple projects investigating the molecular mechanisms of frontotemporal lobar degeneration. My research continues to have a particular focus on tau-mediated neurodegeneration and I was recently awarded a research fellowship from the Alzheimer’s Research Trust to support this work.

Accurate public mental health is vital for effective planning and commissioning of psychiatric services. Prof Jonathan Campion is involved in the development and implementation of local, national and international public mental health strategies, currently working with several local authorities in England covering more than 4 million people to assess the local size, impact and cost of the public mental health intervention gap. This work is informing local needs assessments and commissioning. His presentation will give an overview of public mental health and such local application.

Jonathan is Visiting Professor of Population Mental Health at UCL, Director of Population Mental Health at UCLPartners, Director for Public Mental Health and Consultant Psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Host: Dr James Kirkbride, Division of Psychiatry.
