Gower Street | London | WC1E 6BT | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

The increasing prevalence of long-term conditions and the precipitating lifestyle factors, the unrealised opportunities presented by new technologies and social media, the immense financial constraints facing the NHS and healthcare provision across the world; all necessitate radical and systemic innovation. However, uptake of innovation in the NHS is at best slow and patchy.

In this talk, Amanda Begley (Director of Innovation and Implementation at UCLPartners) will present findings and insights from the NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA), an NHS England Initiative delivered in partnership with the Country’s 15 Academic Health Science Networks, hosted at UCLPartners. She will also reflect upon some of the key challenges faced by health entrepreneurs, and share tips on developing health innovations to optimise the likelihood of their uptake within the NHS.
