Dr Nick Achilleos, UCL Physics and Astronomy

Come to UCL's 12th festival of astronomy and particle physics, featuring lectures, panel discussions, live demonstrations and telescopes looking at the Sun, Venus, the Moon and Jupiter (weather permitting). Our 2017 theme is 'Giant worlds and their moons': a celebration of remote exploration and astonishing discoveries, showing our solar system as never before.

Evening lectures - Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre

Saturday 4 March 5pm Space Missions to Giant Planets: Looking back at the Cassini Mission and looking forward to JUICE Dr Nick Achilleos will speak about the discoveries made by the Cassini spacecraft over more than a decade of orbiting the planet Saturn, and look at some of the plans for upcoming JUICE mission to explore the icy moons of Jupiter.

Saturday at 2pm - 5pm The Festival is also open to the general public in the South Cloisters, Wilkins Building.
