UCL Art Museum Film Club: La Dolce Vita
Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre |
Gower St | London | WC1E 6BT | United Kingdom
Ticketing: Ticketed and Pre-booking essential
In 1984, Tye won the Gulbenkian Prize to attend the British School in Rome, where he came in contact with themes and techniques central to the Italian baroque, and discovered the means to express his belief in the sheer beauty of being alive. We’ve chosen to show Roberto Fellini’s classic film La Dolce Vita to represent Tye’s time in Rome and the passions and excesses of the eternal city. The screening will begin with a short talk about Tye and his work as well as examples of other artists in our collection who've been inspired by Rome throughout the centuries.
This film screening is part of the public programme for our autumn exhibition, Roderick Tye: The Human Presence.
A glass of wine and pop-corn will be provided.
