Show’n’Tell: The Living Glass
Grant Museum of Zoology |
21 University Street | London | WC1E 6JJ | United Kingdom
For a very special Show’n’Tell we have invited our Leverhulme Artist in Residence to showcase just one object from the Museum’s collection of 68,000 and tell you what they know about it. How do animals grow from glass? Find out more with Eleanor Morgan as she explores the Museum's glass sponge collection. These remarkable creatures are formed of 90% silica, the chemical from which glass is made.
Don’t worry if you can’t stay for the whole hour, doors open at 1pm with the talk starting at 1:15pm and lasts around 30 minutes after which the speaker will be on hand to show you in more detail his chosen object for the last 15 minutes. Stay for the whole hour or just dip in for the talk over your lunchtime and discover the stories hidden away in our collection.
