Speaker information

Stephen Leonard, Chief Executive UK & Ireland, IBM

In 2011 IBM marks its Centennial as a corporation, and this lecture will look at what 100 years has taught IBM about driving progress in business, technology and society. Mr Leonard will give insights on how a corporation survives and thrives in the complex modern world. Sharing IBM's experience he will discuss three keys to re-inventing an organisation while remaining successful, these focus on the rise of globalisation, the evolution of technology and the role of culture in organisations. In the process, he will highlight the key issues leaders must address if they want to drive progress and the continued impact of their institutions.

This event is part of a year long initiative that engages local communities and thought leaders around the world on the theme of changing the way the world works.

Following this lecture there will be a drinks reception in UCL's Jeremy Bentham Room.
