Speaker information

Professor Dame Hazel Genn, Dean, UCL Laws, In January 2006 Prof Genn appointed as the Inaugural Commissioner of the new Judicial Appointments Commission and was a member of the Committee on Standards in Public Life from 2003-07. In April 2009, she was appointed to the Secretary of State\'s Advisory Panel on Judicial Diversity. In a recent report, the Panel noted that there is a strong case for a more diverse judiciary but that there is no \'quick fix\' to the problem.

Professor Dame Hazel Genn will discuss the issue of judicial diversity in England and Wales, focusing in particular on strategies to enhance judicial diversity.
