NeuroAI - Forging Closer Links Between Neuroscience and Machine Learning

Location

Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour (link Map)
25 Howland Street | London | W1T 4AY | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

The last five years have seen huge advances in the capability of machine learning - particularly deep learning and deep RL ¬approaches that have in part been informed by our increased understanding of the brain. In turn these tools provide a powerful means to explore how information is processed in the brain ¬ for example, mapping sensory data to neural representations, or representations to behaviour.

For these reasons we feel there are real benefits to be realised from developing close relationships between experimental and theoretical neuroscientists, and computer scientists. The UCL Neuroscience Domain and CoMPLEX are hosting a workshop to bring together speakers from across the spectrum of NeuroAI will present talks with the aim of fostering collaborations and identifying the next steps necessary to develop this exciting field.
