Professor Manuel Antonio Garreton, Simon Bolivar Chair, University of Cambridge

UCL - Institute of the Americas is honoured to host Prof Manuel Antonio Garretón to deliver this talk.

Prof Garreton is a prominent Chilean sociologist and political scientist and Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Universidad de Chile. He is currently the holder of the prestigious Simon Bolívar Chair at the University of Cambridge.

In this talk, Professor Garretón will discuss the 1973 coup in Chile and the socio-political processes that that country experienced in the aftermath of the coup from the perspective offered by current political and social developments in Chile and Latin America.

Members of the public are warmly invited to join us for the talk, the discussion and the wine reception afterwards. Attendance is free of charge but registration is required.
