The Canada – UK Joint Declaration of September 2011, renewed and updated in February 2014, is dedicated to establishing 'A Stronger Partnership for the 21st Century between Britain and Canada'.

One aspect of this partnership is the work of the annual Canada-UK Colloquium (CUKC) which in November 2013 addressed the topic of ‘New Realities for Global Health’.

Global health interacts with all of the core functions of foreign policy: achieving national and global security, creating economic wealth, supporting developments in low-income countries and promoting human dignity though the protection of human rights and the delivery of humanitarian assistance.

In this evening’s seminar, two leading members of the Canada-UK Council introduce the 2013 Colloquium report and invite comments upon it.
