UCL Women: Guest Lecture
Cruciform Lecture Theatre 1 |
Gower Street | London | WC1E 6BT | United Kingdom
UCL Women, to celebrate International Women's Day, are delighted to invite you to a lecture by Professor Elizabeth Blackburn, University of California, San Francisco, 2009 Nobel Laureate. Professor Blackburn was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for her ground breaking work on telomerase and telomeres. Telomeres keep the ends of chromosomes intact and slowly shorten with age. Professor Blackburn's lecture is entitled 'Telomeres - Telling Tails'. This will be followed by a discussion about A Life in Science with the broadcaster and member of UCL Council, Vivienne Parry OBE.
Please join us afterwards at a reception in the North Cloisters from 7.00pm - 8.00pm.
UCL Women is a grassroots networking and social organization for academic staff in STEM at UCL
