UCL Transport Institute will be launching Professor David Metz’s new book "Peak car – the future of travel". The concept of peak car has arisen in recent years as one explanation for an apparent levelling-off of the volume of driving in many developed economies.

David (former Chief Scientist at the Department of Transport) will introduce the research described in his book, after which UCL’s Emeritus Professor Phil Goodwin, who has written extensively on the subject, will give his own perspective on David’s findings. This can be expected to lead to a lively Q&A session, chaired by UCL’s Professor Peter Jones, who co-wrote On the Move for the RAC Foundation.

The panel discussion will be followed by a wine reception at 7pm.

Sponsored by Landor LINKS Ltd.
