Bullying Experience and Effects: UK Evidence
This seminar will be hosted by the Centre for Longitudinal Studies in collaboration with the Anti-Bullying Alliance. In the lead-up to Anti-Bullying Week 2015, the event will introduce third and public sector stakeholders to the most recent findings from three of Britain’s internationally-renowned cohort studies: Next Steps, the Millennium Cohort Study and the National Child Development Study.
We have chosen this topic as it takes advantage of the unique opportunity provided by the proximity of the Festival (7-14 November) to Anti-Bullying Week (16-20 November). At the time of the Festival, anti-bullying organisations, local and national government will be preparing awareness campaigns on this year’s theme of bullying and mental health. In previous years, longitudinal evidence has featured prominently in the Anti-Bullying Week campaigns.
By bringing together leading academics, practitioners and campaigners, this event stands to generate some direct impact for the social sciences.
