When less truly could be more…
Advances in Breast cancer management have been remarkable over the last two decades. Treatments have become less invasive with much better aesthetic outcome coupled with significant improvement in survival. UCL has been at the forefront of cutting edge research, innovations and training in this field.
This includes sentinel node biopsy, advanced imaging using PET technology, electrochemotherapy, keyhole mastectomy, use of nanotechnology, intraoperative radiotherapy to name but few. There has been a significant emphasis on patient centred care, decision support and shared decision making.
My inaugural lecture will focus on the recent advances and the contributions that UCL and Royal Free have made in this field. I do hope that you can join me to celebrate these achievements.
Lecture 17:00h for 17:15h, refreshments from 18:15h
