Shalom L. Goldman (Pardon Tillinghast Professor of Religion, Middlebury) will be 'in conversation' with Professor Michael Berkowitz (UCL Jewish and Hebrew Studies) about his co-authorship of the libretto and author of the vocal texts for Philip Glass' seminal opera Akhnaten. Professor Goldman is in London for the first performance of Glass' opera in the UK for over 30 years. Akhnaten interweaves ancient texts with modern commentary on the reign of this remarkable pharaoh and this is a superb opportunity to find out more about the thinking and writing behind this opera.

Akhnaten is being performed at the English National opera 4 - 18 March. One man's ideas can change the course of history. But at what cost?
