Increasing public health with reducing budgets: How evidence can help

Local Government House (link Map)
Smith Square | London | SW1P 3HZ | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

This one-day conference, organised by the Local Government Association in collaboration with NICE and the UCL Centre for Behaviour Change, will look at how evidence can support decision-making in public health to help local authorities meet the challenge of providing for public health within limited budgets. In the current climate of limited resources in local government, it is more important than ever to spend wisely on public health provision. Without investment in public health now, there is the danger of increasing pressure on services and rising health inequalities in the coming years. Identifying and understanding what has been effective elsewhere can help with planning and provision to meet local needs and priorities.
