Home Truths: The RIBA Research Symposium 2012

Jarvis Hall | RIBA (link Map)
66 Portland Place | London | W1B 1AD | United Kingdom

Admission: Various. Please see link above.
Ticketing: Pre-booking essential

Home Truths, The RIBA’s 7th Annual research symposium, will explore the challenges of retrofitting, asking the question: what problems lie beneath the maxim “don’t move, improve”?

Encompassing issues including conservation, sustainability and design quality, the RIBA’s symposium promises to be an exciting and prescient event. Come and hear about the first retrofit project in the UK that has reached PassivHaus standards; the challenges of designing something new, and ultimately award-winning, within the parameters of an existing building; the interventions which improved the energy efficiency of a 1990s house; the way conservation was taken into account on a sustainable upgrade of an iconic listed modernist building; how schools of architecture have come together to tackle the challenge of retrofit in a collaborative project led by Jeremy Till.

The conference is open to all. Registration and booking required. Please click the link below for pricing and more information.
